This Privacy Policy describes how Snipcast ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our video clipping and social media scheduling service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, upload videos, or contact us for support. This includes:

  • Email address and account credentials
  • Profile information
  • Video files you upload
  • Generated video clips
  • Scheduled post content and captions

2. Third-Party Platform Data

When you connect your social media accounts, we access certain data from these platforms to provide our services:

Google/YouTube

When you connect your Google account, we access:

  • Your YouTube channel information (channel ID, title, thumbnail)
  • Permission to upload videos to your YouTube channel on your behalf
  • Your basic profile information (name, email)

We use this data solely to identify your YouTube channel and publish scheduled video content. We do not access your private videos, analytics, or subscriber information.

TikTok

When you connect your TikTok account, we access:

  • Your TikTok user ID and username
  • Your profile picture and display name
  • Permission to upload videos to your TikTok account on your behalf

We use this data solely to identify your TikTok account and publish scheduled video content.

Instagram (via Facebook/Meta)

When you connect your Instagram account, we access:

  • Your Instagram Business/Creator account information
  • Your Instagram username and profile picture
  • Permission to publish content to your Instagram account on your behalf

We use this data solely to identify your Instagram account and publish scheduled video content.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process your video content and generate clips
  • Schedule and publish content to your connected social media accounts
  • Communicate with you about your account and our services
  • Respond to your requests and support inquiries

4. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for 10 days after account deletion to allow for recovery.
  • Uploaded Videos: Deleted within 10 days after you remove them or delete your account.
  • Generated Clips: Deleted within 10 days after you remove them or delete your account.
  • Social Media Tokens: Access tokens for connected platforms (Google, TikTok, Instagram) are deleted immediately when you disconnect the account or delete your Snipcast account.
  • Scheduled Posts: Post history is retained for 30 days after posting, then automatically deleted.

5. Data Deletion & Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of your personal data at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from your account settings, or by contacting us.
  • Disconnect Platforms: You can disconnect any connected social media account at any time from your account settings. This immediately revokes our access and deletes the associated tokens.
  • Revoke Access: You can also revoke our access directly from each platform's settings:

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except:

  • To publish content to your connected social media accounts (at your direction)
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect our rights and prevent fraud

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes:

  • Encryption of sensitive data including social media access tokens
  • Secure HTTPS connections
  • Regular security audits
